I offer a variety of workshops in drawing and painting techniques. Join me in the studio to enjoy a relaxing day and explore your creativity in comfort.  There will be demonstrations and guidance through the day to encourage you to make beautiful and satisfying work.  All abilities welcome. Days can be tailored to suit the interests of each student. Please ask for more information.

10am-4pm  £54 per person.

  • Pre payment of tuition fees is required in full to reserve your place
  • If a class is cancelled by the pupil up to 14 working days before the class a full refund of fees is available.
  • If a class is cancelled by the pupil within 14 working days of the class a £15 administration fee will be retained by Laura Donaldson.
  • If a class is cancelled by the pupil within 48 hours of the class no refunds will be offered.
  • Should I need to cancel the class due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances then you will be offered the chance to re-schedule or receive a full refund.

Saturday 22nd February – Exploring colour.

We’ll be using mixed media to have a really enjoyable day looking at how different colour combinations can have a lasting impact on your work. Feel free to bring your own images for inspiration or use material provided.

Tuesday 25th February – Abstract painting. Make a mark and see where it takes you

Have fun exploring mark making and composition in acrylics to free up your painting and make vibrant work. Feel free to use other materials if you would prefer.

Saturday 14th March – Sketchbook work. A day of short drawings

Often overlooked, short drawings can build confidence and help to make work with impact. We will use a variety of drawing materials to make the most of your sketch work.

Saturday 18th April – Landscape oil painting

With demonstrations throughout the day to guide a relaxing day of painting. Feel free to bring you own image or use those provided.

Tuesday 21st April – Abstract floral painting Acrylics/ Oils

Feel free to bring your own source material. Flowers are great but anything goes!

Saturday 23rd May – Bold strokes. Loosen up your painting

Swing those arms and enjoy the powerful marks you can make! Ideal for big skies and sweeping landscapes.

Thursday 11th June – Self portraits. Acrylics/ Oils

A day of calm reflection, studying the human face and how to capture form and personality.

Tuesday 23rd June – Painting light and dark. Acrylics/ Oils

Create impact in your work with light and dark. Feel free to bring your own images or work from those provided.

Saturday 18th July – Tea and cake. Paint fast before you dine. Acrylics/ Oils

A fun day celebrating tea and cake. Bring your tastebuds and be ready to enjoy the spoils of your labour.

Saturday 8th August – Miniature painting. Acrylics/ Oils

Tiny still life day. Please feel free to bring your own subject matter or use that provided.

Tuesday 11th August – Old masters techniques. Acrylics/ Oils

Using the techniques and palette of painters past, see what we can all learn from others.

Saturday 19th September – Landscape acrylic painting

Using a variety of techniques to create work with depth and vigour. Please feel free to bring your own images or use those provided.

Saturday 17th October – Four seasons in one day. Your media of choice

Celebrate our beautiful land and everything it has to offer throughout the year.

Tuesday 20th October – Landscape mixed media day

A fun day using everything we can lay our hands on to create exciting and inspiring work.

Saturday 7 November – Arty Party. Celebrate colour in the media of your choice.

In the run up to the festive season, let enjoy everything that colour has to offer!
